No. Local Storm Center does not operate on a barter model. All services are billed monthly and must be paid in cash by the 25th of each month. We do not trade services in exchange for airtime, promotional mentions, or sponsorships.

We get this question often—and it’s a fair one.
At first glance, our prices might seem higher than some automated or generic services. But here’s the truth: Local Storm Center is not a one-size-fits-all product. Every forecast is professionally voiced, tailored to your station’s format and audience, and delivered with consistency you can count on—365 days a year.
You're not just paying for a weather report. You're paying for:
A trusted, experienced broadcaster voicing your content—not a text-to-speech robot or an outsourced voice farm.
Daily, customized weather updates that match your branding, time slots, and local tone.
Dependability—no gaps, no excuses, no “sorry we missed today’s upload.”
Broadcast-quality delivery from someone who understands radio clock timing, listener flow, and what your audience actually wants to hear.
What about ROI?
Stations that integrate local sponsorships or underwriter mentions into their forecasts often recoup their full investment—and then some.
Let’s break it down:
A sponsored forecast package at $75/month costs you $2.50 per day.
Sell that weather segment to a local business for $50/week, and you’re bringing in $200/month—a 166% return.
Many stations charge more, especially in markets where “local” carries premium value.
Even our highest-tier forecast package is less than $5/day—and that’s for full-day coverage with custom delivery. Try hiring a local talent to do that daily (and reliably) for less.
At the end of the day, our pricing reflects the value of real service, real quality, and real results. We’re here to help your station sound polished, professional, and local—without the stress of doing it all yourself.
